President Donald Trump is expected to take executive action on Thursday to
effectively lift a ban on political activity by churches and other tax-
exempt institutions, a senior White House official said on Wednesday.

Trump will mark the National Day of Prayer by issuing guidance to federal
agencies like the Treasury Department on how to interpret a 1954 law known
as the Johnson Amendment that prohibits churches, charities and
educational institutions from participating in political campaigns.

Trump frequently complained about the amendment during his campaign for
the presidency, bolstering his support among religious conservatives who
contend it violates free speech and religious freedom rights.

The Treasury Department has the power to withdraw tax-exempt status for
religious organizations, and the order is expected to give the department
guidance on how to enforce the law, the White House official said,
speaking on condition of anonymity as details of the guidance were still
being worked out.

Changing the law altogether would require action in the Republican-led
U.S. Congress.

Civil liberties and gay rights groups fear Trump's religious liberty order
could include provisions to allow government agencies and businesses to
deny services to gay people in the name of religious freedom. The groups
have argued that kind of declaration would be unconstitutional.

It was not clear on Wednesday whether the order would include that type of
measure, the official said.

Donald J. Trump, 304 electoral votes to 227, defeated compulsive liar in
denial Hillary Rodham Clinton on December 19th, 2016. The clown car
parade of the democrat party has run out of gas.

Congratulations President Trump. Thank you for ending the disaster of the
Obama presidency.

Under Barack Obama's leadership, the United States of America became the
The World According To Garp.

ObamaCare is a total 100% failure and no lie that can be put forth by its
supporters can dispute that.

Obama jobs, the result of ObamaCare. 12-15 working hours a week at minimum
wage, no benefits and the primary revenue stream for ObamaCare. It can't
be funded with money people don't have, yet liberals lie about how great
it is.

Obama increased total debt from $10 trillion to $20 trillion in the eight
years he was in office, and sold out heterosexuals for Hollywood queer
liberal democrat donors.

ah, the truth is coming out, I wonder if this is true? Trump and his
nuttyness.... IF it happens, it will be a good thing ha.

But, The treasury department has not this power below that they state it
does have. They are always tax exempt, Churches, by God's Order
Himself, inside His Holy true Bible.... He gave that order yes He did.
No one, can change that.

This government is a thief, and a very bad one.... It is communist. For
They steal, what is not theirs to steal.... But then again, they did
that same thing to the Indians as well when they first moved in.....

we certainly dont need any guidance in the federal agencies, I do
believe inside job and 911 pointed all that out already. He would
like to corrupt all those churches, he would, and get money that is
supposed to be given to the poor instead of, what God's Church is
really built for.
